Google Cloud SQL
Fully managed relational databases — MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server
Get StartedGoogle Cloud SQL is a fully managed relational database service that supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. Cloud SQL handles the operational burden of database management — including provisioning, patching, backup, replication, and failover — allowing development teams to focus on building applications rather than administering database infrastructure. With 99.95% availability SLA and automatic failover, Cloud SQL delivers the reliability that production workloads demand.
Performance is optimised through a range of machine types with up to 624 GB of RAM and 64 TB of storage per instance. Read replicas distribute query load across multiple instances, while connection pooling (via Cloud SQL Auth Proxy) manages database connections efficiently from serverless environments. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit by default, and Cloud SQL integrates with IAM for fine-grained access control.
Database Migration Service (DMS) provides continuous replication from on-premise or other cloud databases to Cloud SQL, enabling zero-downtime migrations. DMS supports MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and AlloyDB migrations, making it the simplest path to modernise database infrastructure.
Xcobean deploys Cloud SQL for organisations migrating from self-managed databases or on-premise hosting. Our services include database architecture design, migration planning and execution, performance tuning, and integration with application layers running on Compute Engine, GKE, or Cloud Run.
